MY COUNTRY FACTS:
Oficial name: Venezuela’s official name is Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
LOCATION: It’s located in South America, between Guyana and Colombia and also makes frontiers with Brasil. It’s capital is Caracas.
In which year did Venezuela joined the UN:
Venezuela joined the UN in the 1st of June in 1942. It was one of the 26 countries that founded the United Nations.

The people of Venezuela are called Venezolanos

2.What is the official language? And what other languages do people speak?

It exists forty languages that are spoken in Venezuela but the official one and the one most spoken is the Spanish. Also there are more languages spoken by indigenous tribes (mostly Indians) speak different languages but know some Spanish. But there are other tribes that speak their maternal language and don’t know nothing about the Spanish language. With the time more and more indigenous people are moving to places cities… in which people speak Spanish and so the indigenous people start speaking Spanish and may forget their maternal language. For example there are two indigenous languages called: sape and mayopo that only five persons speak those languages. Italian, English, Portuguese, Chinese and Arab are also languages known and spoked in Venezuela. Finally some words in English are now adopted by Venezuelan Spanish.

3.What is the most practiced religion?

Although the social and political changes that happened in Venezuela its considered a country with a lot of religious parties. They do funfairs, celebrations, processions… to a certain virgin or saint. In November they have a party called “Feria De La Chinita’’ in which they show honor to “La Virgen del Valle’’ and in January they cerlebrate the party of Virgen “De La Divina Pastora.’’

The national flag of Venezuela means:

YELLOW: the yellow colour refers and thanks to all their wealth.

BLUE: the blue colour refers to the sea that separates them from their motherland Spain.

RED: the red colour refers to the blood that has been shed by their liberators.

STARS: They represent the first seven provinces that signed the Acta of La Independencia.

But are these the real reasons?

Well the ones that are going to tell you are the same meanings but people have done investigations and there are some strange reasons.

YELLOW: when they design the flag, in those times they were not very rich, so which wealth do they mean.

BLUE: motherland Spain. Why do they give this honor to Spain if the war was against them.

RED: blood shed by their liberators. What blood if the war of the independence hadn’t started yet.
GOVERNMENT:

Well Venezuela was a democratic state but not really a democratic state. Well it was a democratic state because people could vote for the elections but the political party of Hugo Chávez( the one that was ruling in Venezuela) said that the elections were rigged so that they the elections were not valid and his political party could keep ruling. But this Sunday there were again the elections in Venezuela and the opposite party won, so now Venezuela is another democratic country.

2.What’s the name of the leader of the country?

The leader of the country name was Hugo Chávez until this Sunday when there were elections but as the political party of the opposition won the name of the actual leader of Venezuela is Nicolas Maduro who may be much better than Hugo Chávez but may not be that much because there are not a lot of good politicians (president) and some people are a bit afraid of how is he going to govern.

3.What type of government is the country ruled by?

Venezuela is ruled by a federal republic and also presidential governed by the adapted constitution in 1999. The president is the boss government being the head of the executive power of the country. Also the president needs to represent the country when there are countries meetings.

The powers are distributed like normally in Spain in wich the executive power is done by the police, the legislative by the judges and the army is controlled by the president wich is Nicolas Maduro.

No, Venezuela hasn’t been ever a colony.

  1. How many inhabitants does your country have?

Venezuela had always been having more and more inhabitants, the number of inhabitants has always increase and has never decrease since 1960 up to nowadays, in 1960 the number of inhabitants that Venezuela had were: 7.58 million inhabitants so as it never decreases nowadays it has:30.85 million inhabitants in all Venezuela.

  1. Population density:

Venezuela has a density of 34 inhabitants per km2. Well as Venezuela has lots of inhabitants, that’s why it has so less inhabitants per square meter within all the inhabitants it has.

  1. Birth rate. Reasons:

In 2011 615.132 kids were born in Venezuela in which the 51.51% were boys and the 48.48% were girls. In 2011, 23.892 kids more were born in Venezuela than in 2010.

As Venezuela has a percentage of 2.4 sons per mother the natality pyramid of Venezuela can still be growing as the normal percentage needed is 2.1 sons per mother.

In 2011 136.803 persons died in Venezuela, 6.206 more than the past year. More men died than women, exactly 83.283 men died and 53.520 women died. Also Venezuela has gone down in the ranking of mortality, before it was number 29 and now its number 34 in the ranking. These reasons are because Venezuela hasn’t got a very good health actually and because there has been a lot of violence.

Venezuela is passing a terrible period of migrations in their country, more than a million and a half of Venezuelans have migrated to other countries because a better way of live waits them in other countries.

More than immigrants coming to Venezuela the people of Venezuela are going out from their country, because they have a very hard life there, well although a lot of Venezolans go from the country also there are people from any country but not much people that come to Venezuela to try to have a better life than they had in their country.
  1. Number of emigrants. Where do they go? Why?

In the last year there have been a lot of emigrants that go from Venezuela to mainly Spain and Italy. They go because of the bad situation they have in their lives living in Venezuela. Most of the people go because they don’t have work or because they think they’ll have more opportunities to have a better live in other country although they have to say “goodbye” to their families and friends.

For example one legislation for inmigrants in Venezuela is that if you want to buy a house you need: 1.to entered and remain legally in the national country; 2.live in the country at least one year; 3- Have licit ways of live.

There are no powers related with inmigrants that go to Venezuela, the only thing they have to do is to follow the rules that the government of Venezuela tell them to do.

There are no institutions in charge of the inmigrants, the only thing that control the inmigrants is the government, that if they see that they don’t do what they’ve told them to do for living there they’ll expel the inmigrant from the country.
GEOGRAPHY:

Venezuela is located in the south of America (South America) making frontiers in the left with Colombia and in the right with Guyana, and down of it you can find Basil. Venezuela’s capital is Caracas and it’s located in the north of Venezuela certainly in the coast.

It makes frontiers with Bolivia, Guyana and Brasil (these one is the biggest country in South America)

  1. What type of landscape does the country have. Positive and negative things of it.

Well as Venezuela has a normal climate, it has very beautiful landscapes, it has lots of tress, mountains… also a very beautiful thing of it’s landscape are the waterfalls which are mostly in forests.

What type of climate does it have: As It has Mediterranean climate, it’s most common climate is hot with wind but also it rains a lot.is like the climate we have here in Spain: in winter is freezing, in summer is boiling, in spring is sunny with fresh air and in autumn it rains a lot and also has strong winds.


ECONOMY:
  1. What’s the most common sector of unemployment of your country?
In the year 2013 Venezuela was the second country in America with more unemployment so that’s why there were a lot of crazy peoplethat throw coctels Molotov and more “weaponds’’ to any part of the city, so they show that they are angry on how is the country being governed, but the only thing they are going to win is that the government go to damage them and this can cause collateral damage to people that haven’t done nothing and because of a few of them they can life with scare. Because they also attack normal people, they are like extremely ultras in football matches.
